Week one ✔

Good morning Good morning Y'all! Today marks one week since Dad had his first Chemo session. He has been feeling a little tired earlier in the week but on Tuesday he was out and about and most IMPORTANTLY, the three of us made it to trivia last night and took home First Place!! (It helped to have categories on Star Wars, Video Games, Harry Potter, and NFL Coaches-- well for me anyways).

Also, we think it is fitting to start the first night of Hanukkah at the completion of week one into Chemo. Each night we get to light this year will mean a little bit more.

I also wanted to share some thoughts from dad about his first day of Chemo

"Toward the end of my treatment a woman rang the bell, indicating she had completed her chemo treatments. I obviously did not know her or anything about her journey but immediately started to clap for her achievement and welled up with emotion, so happy she was moving on to her next step of healing. She represents my new brother/sisterhood of people I pray and root for, even if I know nothing about them or their personal journey.

And these nurses at the chemo center - WOW! Talk about big hearts and coming to work with genuine love and smiles in such a challenging environment. At work, I have grown accustomed to saying "thank you for your service" when I learn I am speaking with someone who is either active military or veteran. I will add nurses to this list. Truly heroes themselves."

Thank you as always for the messages and thoughts. Dad lights up reading each one. And don't forget to share this site with others who want to follow Dad's journey and send positive messages.

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts Loren. Your messages really perk-up my spirits. Once we get a clearer understanding of the time window between chemo and surgery and how I am physically feeling would love to have you come down and visit.
